Blended With

Eucalyptus Smithii is supposedly the most gentle Eucalyptus essential oil, producing less irritation when applied neat to the skin. Like the other species of eucalyptus, it has been used as a respiratory treatment for infection, asthma and more chronic conditions, due to its reported analgesic, antiseptic, expectorant and decongestant properties. Eucalyptus Smithii is comprised of approximately 78% 1,8-cineole. This compound was found to be mucolytic (breaks down mucous making it easier to clear

Lemon was traditionally seen as a valuable therapeutic agent for many problems, especially infectious diseases, in Spain and other European companies (Lawless, 1997), and has been found in scientific research to possess antiseptic properties. Furthermore, it has been recorded as a remedy to alleviate fever by an Egyptian physician in the 12th century (Arias and Ramon-Laca, 2005).

Peppermint, the menthol within peppermint is also widely reported to be an expectorant, which thin mucous aiding in its clearance, which may relieve symptoms of respiratory disorders such as bronchitis, colds and influenza. Menthol’s action on cold receptors in the airway has also been found to reduce the discomfort associated with loaded breathing

Basil is a popular herb used in traditional Indian and Chinese medicine systems for upper respiratory tract infections.  Its use for upper respiratory infections is supported by evidence suggesting that a methanol extract of basil is effective at reducing inflammation by inhibiting the release of major pro-inflammatory mediators (TNF-?, IL-1?, IL-2 and nitric oxide) and the proliferation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells, white blood cells that mediate initial inflammatory responses, in vitro (Selvakkumar et al., 2007). Relief of inflammation may help in the relief of nasal and bronchial congestion by easing swelling and soreness. Basil is also traditionally used to relieve pain.
